GETTING TO KNOW
DR. LORI BEDNARCHIK
Dr. Lori Bednarchik is an award-winning professor and program developer; certified health education specialist, and one of the nation’s leading experts on sexual consent and communication. For the past decade, she has spoken to audiences across the country, challenging their norms surrounding relationships, consent, and sex. In the age of #MeToo, and an increasingly divided discussion of sexual misconduct, Lori is a refreshing, uncensored, uninhibited, and positive voice.
Lori has a PhD in Human Communication from Arizona State University, an MPH in Health Education and Health Promotion, and BA in English and Gender Studies from The University of Maryland (where she was also a Division I athlete). She currently lectures in the communication department at several universities where she specializes in interpersonal relationships between romantic partners and platonic friends as well as interpersonal relationships within the workplace.
Lori lives, works, and plays in Mission Beach in San Diego, California. When not teaching, speaking, or writing, Lori, can be found working out, binge-watching [predictable] teen dramas, taking long walks on the beach, and on a never-ending quest for the best Happy Hour.

Violating consent is not limited to sexual relationships… and our discussions around it shouldn’t either. In this program, Dr. B takes a unique, positive, uninhibited and uncensored approach to talking about consent and communication in the wider context of our interpersonal relationships. The focus is on how everyday communication can help us set our own, and respect others’ boundaries when it comes to consent.
