GETTING TO KNOW

Chris Butsch

To conquer depression, Chris Butsch took a hiatus from corporate life to travel the world, studying happiness, engagement, and the human condition. Visiting 41 countries and counting, Chris has interviewed hundreds of psychologists, swamis, monks, billionaires, and Millennials, and Gen Z across continents. He’s made snow angels with CEOs in Sweden, sang karaoke with Chinese business moguls, and studied mindfulness with Vietnamese Buddhist monks in the woods of Mississippi.

Now, Chris returns to the workplace to share the best of what he’s learned from the happiest people in the world. Thanks to his high-energy, BS-free approach to the delicate subject of “workplace happiness,” Chris has been featured in Forbes, HuffPo, and TEDx, and has been invited to speak at Google, DeWalt, VodaFone. He is also the author of The Millennial’s Guide to Making Happiness and co-author of Win: Future-Proof Your Workforce in the Age of Disengagement.

Keynotes

Making Happiness for New Hires

Chris nearly burnt out of his first job due to unmanageable stress, and he’s not alone. Deloitte reports that over 77% of employees feel burnout at work, and rates are the highest – and rising – among new hires.

But it doesn’t have to be that way. Looking back, there are several strategies that Chris – and new hires just like him – could implement to achieve work-life balance much earlier, settle into a rhythm, and make happiness at work.

In this honest, interactive, and high-energy program, Chris will share with your new hires precisely what he did wrong in his first year that led to feelings of burnout – and how each of them can flip the script, feel engaged, and make happiness instead.

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:
  • The top 2 reasons new hires burn out, and how to spot the symptoms
  • How to flip the script and make happiness instead
  • How to achieve work-life balance during your first year

BS-Free Wellness

Let’s face it. There’s a lot of BS out there when it comes to “workplace wellness,” coming from folks who – let’s just say – haven’t spent much time in a Herman Miller Aeron. So how would someone with limited exposure to a demanding work environment know which wellness strategies to use?

During his years as a healthcare IT project manager, Chris worked 60-hour weeks plus travel. He had no time for BS – only wellness and mental health techniques that worked, lowering stress and boosting productivity for both him and his team.

In this raw, engaging, and activity-filled program, Chris shares his greatest hits. From the #1 workplace activity for building teamwork and engagement to a 90-second meditation exercise for sharpening focus before meetings, audiences will learn how to improve mindfulness, happiness, and engagement at work – all BS-free.

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:
  • How to boost productivity and lower stress using simple at-your-desk techniques
