ALONZO JONES

Alonzo Jones is a seasoned higher education leader with 30 years of experience in administration, program development, and student engagement, specializing in the development of young people between the ages of 15-26.

Currently serving as Associate Athletic Director for Championship Life at Arizona State University, Alonzo oversees life skills programs and career readiness initiatives for over 650 student-athletes across 26 sports. Alonzo holds a Master’s in Developmental and Adult Education from Texas State University and a Bachelor’s in Justice Studies from Arizona State University.

In addition to his higher education career, as a speaker, Alonzo has worked with everyone from high schools, colleges & athletic programs to the NFL, community organizations & government municipalities. His approach to speaking is to provide audiences unheard perspectives on familiar topics through an engaging, interactive, and sometimes unorthodox delivery style. His programs are an extension of his professional life, private thoughts, and self-examination around identity, education, and fatherhood.

His current research centers on “The Warrior Class,” a concept representing the physical and developmental stage of human growth typically occurring between the ages of 15 and 26. It explores how modern technological advancements both support and disrupt the traditional coming-of-age process, influencing personal and professional decision-making. The Warrior Class model serves as a valuable resource for supervisors, educators, and administrators, offering insights for hiring, supervising, and training today’s emerging workforce.
