Keynotes

What We Owe Each Other

Across workplaces and communities, we are witnessing a crisis of connection, marked by rising loneliness, isolation, and a breakdown in how we engage meaningfully with one another. In response, Emmy award-winning speaker and educator Noel Quiñones offers a compelling call to action: every interaction is an opportunity to practice empathy, extend grace, and be transformed by authentic human encounter.

This program reframes connection not as a soft skill, but as a critical leadership and organizational competency. Drawing from nearly two decades of experience in education, community organizing, and storytelling spaces, Noel provides actionable strategies for fostering cultures of belonging at both the personal and organizational level. Through real-world examples, interactive reflection, and identity-conscious leadership practices, participants will learn how making space for others’ stories — and courageously sharing their own — can build trust, resilience, and community within their teams and networks.

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:

  • Learn how to create intentional spaces for authentic story-sharing, one-on-one and in groups

  • Discover how embracing vulnerability and complexity strengthens culture, connection, and collective well-being

The Contradiction of Latinidad

As conversations about the Latino population in the United States gain prominence, so too does the tension around the perceived contradictions within this diverse community. Are Latinos Black or White, fully bilingual or not, culturally assimilated or culturally obstinate? These oversimplified binaries overlook the rich, nuanced realities of Latinidad. In this engaging keynote, Emmy award-winning speaker Noel Quiñones uses the Puerto Rican word WEPA — an expression of both celebration and acknowledgement — as a powerful metaphor for navigating identity in all its complexity.

Through a dynamic blend of personal storytelling, historical context, and empirical data on Latino identity development, Noel invites participants to examine the complexity of identity, culture, and belonging. At a time when organizations and communities alike are wrestling with questions of inclusion, representation, and who gets to claim space, this program offers a timely and human-centered framework for embracing nuance, fostering cultural awareness, and building more connected, equitable workplaces.

ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT:
  • Gain clarity on the history and evolving definitions of the terms Latino, Hispanic, and Spanish
  • Explore pivotal moments in Latino American history and current conversations around Latinidad

  • Access resources to deepen knowledge of Latino history, identity, and community engagement
